Ed WEBB, 62, an auto mechanic and service station operator in Montgomery County most of his life, died suddenly July 26 at his home on the Barcus Orchard Rd, SW of Crawfordsville. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He had been in failing health 4 years. Born April 18, 1897 at Tompkinsville, Ky, Mr. Webb was the son of William Thomas and Debra Register Webb. He married Nola Oliver at Tompkinsville June 15, 1918. He was a veteran of WWI and member of American Legion. He had operated service stations in Crawfordsville and Linden and a garage at Browns Valley. Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hodges, Darlington, Mrs. Lucile Ray, Houston, Tx; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Lane of Tompkinsville, Ky; Mrs. Betty Carter of Excelsior Springs, Mo and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wed at Hunt & Sons with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial was at Linden Cemetery. The Byron Cox Post of American Legion conducted military rites. -- kbz
